Granite is known to be a hard stone and no matter where you use them, in your sink, on your floor or on the kitchen or bathroom walls, granite is bound to enhance the beauty of the place. Granite however is a porous rock and it is because of this reason that they tend to get discolored with stains once the surface sealant wears off. Here are a few tips that can help you get rid of the stains:

• Maintain your granite counterparts by cleaning them regularly. This will make sure that the stains and further discoloration of the granite does not stay.

• In case the discoloration refuses to go, use some baking powder or mild detergent along with warm water and scrub the stained area with it. This will help deal with the problem.

• If none of this works then use poultice. Poultice is best when dealing with granite.
